Payments Eligible for Children’s Social Care & Support Roles

Recruitment Payment

The Qualified Social Work roles attract a *£2,500 recruitment payment. This is processed with your first salary payment and is subject to tax and national insurance deductions.

Retention Payment

The Qualified Social Work posts attract a *£2,500 retention payment pro rata. This payment is made in April every year and subject to a satisfactory performance feedback. This payment will be pro-rata if you commence part way through the qualifying period (1 April-31 March). *Subject to deductions.

The Recruitment and Retention Payment  also applies to other registered social workers in Safeguarding Quality & Reviews Services, Disability Services – (Children’s Social Workers)

*Consultant Social Workers receive the market supplement at each spinal column point.  The other roles receive it after they have been at the top of the grade for a year and/or when they would be eligible for a further increment above the top of the scale.
